Meet Phuong Thao Nguyen, DDS, MSD

Phuong Thao Nguyen, DDS, MSD Board Certified Periodontist

Dr. Nguyen grew up in Saigon, Vietnam, and she is fluent in English and Vietnamese. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Houston and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry. After dental school, she pursued a 3-year postdoctoral residency in the field of Periodontics and Implantology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, where she earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics. She served as Chief Resident during residency, and her research project has won several awards. Dr. Nguyen is also Board Certified, having met the rigorous requirements of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Nguyen is dedicated to community service and has participated in volunteer dental work in Guatemala, Jamaica, and remote areas of the US. She is an active member of The American Academy of Periodontology, The American Dental Association, and The Georgia Dental Association. Dr. Nguyen is an avid sports fan and enjoys running, motorcycle rides, exploring new food as well as traveling when she is not caring for her patients.
